About Us

The RB Eye Foundation, a non-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is committed to raising community awareness and support for patient care, diagnostic testing, and medical research pertaining to vision-threatening disease in children, including Leber Congential Amaurosis (LCA), and to supporting other related and/or worthy charitable causes.

The RB Eye Foundation was created in 2011 by Jim and Kami Schlossnagle. Jim is the head baseball coach at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth and has a very personal connection to pediatric eye disease through his children.

The RB Eye Foundation works in partnership with and financially supports the Child Vision Center of Fort Worth. Conceived and founded by the physicians of Pediatric Eye Specialists, the Child Vision Center is an innovative, nonprofit research and diagnostic center led by a team of pediatric ophthalmologists and ophthalmology specialist designed to create a world-class diagnostic and research center in order to provide care to all children who need it.

In addition, the RB Eye Foundation supports The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and the John and Marcia Carver Nonprofit Genetic Testing Laboratory.
