Who We Support

Child Vision Center – Fort Worth, TX

In August 2011, the RB EYE Foundation committed to assisting the Child Vision Center in raising $1.5 million to help fund and endow the facility and its operations. Conceived and founded by the physicians of Pediatric Eye Specialists, the Child Vision Center is an innovative, nonprofit research and diagnostic center led by our team of pediatric ophthalmologists and ophthalmology specialist designed to create a world-class diagnostic and research center in order to provide care to all children who need it.

“The Child Vision Center is in its infancy now, but Kami and I hope that with our support and that of the community, this will become a world-class center for pediatric eye research and diagnostics,” said Jim Schlossnagle, the TCU head baseball coach who, along with his wife Kami, founded the RB Eye Foundation.

The Schlossnagles’ interest in pediatric eye care began when their own children were treated by Eric Packwood, MD, of Pediatric Eye Specialists. Founded by Dr. Packwood and partners Alan Norman, MD, and Michael Hunt, MD, the Child Vision Center is a nonprofit research and diagnostic center with the goal of advancing world-class eye care for all children.

“The Schlossnagles have been devoted supporters of the Child Vision Center since the beginning,” said Dr. Packwood. “We greatly appreciate their belief in our mission and their help in spreading our message to many.”

The Child Vision Center, a 501(c)(3) organization, will employ doctorate-level researchers and house an advanced diagnostic laboratory with ocular testing equipment typically found only at a few large academic institutions. It will advance research into the diagnosis and treatment of complex pediatric vision conditions and, in the long-term, will serve as a training ground for physicians from the developing world seeking to improve skills in pediatric eye care.
